Here are TOP 3 questions I recommend you ask;
1) Is the realtor part time or full time in real estate? I do not take anything away from a part-time realtor, however it is a challenge to work real estate part-time. If a realtor has a full time job how will they be able to communicate with you during the day? How will they be able to do home searches?
2) How many years have they been in the industry? It is important to choose a realtor that has experience. The realtor should be able to inform you of the market and also be able to tell you what other houses are being sold for in the area so you can make a educated decision when choosing a home.
3) How do your realtor fees work? Typically this is the first question I am asked. Realtor’s commission are paid by seller.
These questions will help you understand the availability of your realtor to show houses, their level of experience with different client desires, and an upfront approach to fees. It is very important that you also meet the realtor so you know that you both have a good connection!
