PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS BEFORE APPLYING FOR A MORTGAGE LOAN

Do you know what documents you need to get your mortgage pre-approval?

I share with you some of the most important docs you will need prior to applying for a loan.

1) Tax returns – lender will require at least 2 years of taxes. They want your full financial history.

2) Paystubs/W-2-This is how lender can determine current earnings.

3) Bank Statements – Lenders may need to see that you have several months worth of reserved mortgage payments. Also down payment/closing costs need to be verified.

4) Credit history-Lender has to pull your credit so they can assess your creditworthiness.

5) Gift letter- if a relative is going to help you with down payment they too have to provide bank statement to show that they have the funds in account.

6) Photo ID

These are just a few of the documents you will need before you meet with lender. Every buyer’s situation is different and lenders may require more docs from you but these will get you started.
